Permitted Driving Distance on a Booking

Hosts define the driving distance they allow you to drive for bookings with their vehicles. We will show you the permitted driving distance for each vehicle before you make the booking, so you can choose the vehicle that suits your needs.

Permitted Driving Distance

Some hosts offer unlimited driving miles for a booking with their vehicle. Others set a daily mileage limit. When you open a vehicle listing, we will show you the driving distance limit included, i.e., the total number of miles you can drive during your booking.

For example, if the host’s vehicle has a daily driving limit of 200 kilometers and you want to make a three-day booking with this vehicle, the total permitted distance for the entire 3-day booking will be 600 kilometers.

If the vehicle is offered with unlimited mileage, we will display a badge on the listing and the permitted driving miles will be stated as “Unlimited Driving Miles.” Additionally, we will remind you of the permitted driving miles for your booking before confirming it via email, as well as on your booking details page and during check-in.

When you check in and out, we will ask you to take photos before and after the pick-up, use, and return of the vehicle. We will ask you to photograph the odometer before and after, i.e., at the start and end of your booking. This ensures that the miles you drove during your booking are recorded.

Find Vehicles Offering Unlimited Driving Miles

You can find vehicles offering unlimited driving miles by filtering the search results in the Sync app or website.

In the App:

1. Enter your start location and booking dates.
2. At the bottom of the screen, tap "Filters."
3. Scroll down and tap "Permitted Distance."
4. Select "Unlimited Miles" from the menu.

On the Website:

1. Enter your start location and booking dates.
2. Click the search icon (magnifying glass).
3. At the top of the screen, click on "Permitted Driving Miles."
4. Select "Unlimited Miles" from the menu.

Bookings Exceeding the Permitted Driving Miles

We display the additional charge for driving beyond the permitted miles per kilometer on the booking page before you complete your booking. The charge equals the booking price divided by the distance. If you exceed the permitted driving miles, your host has 72 hours after the end of your booking to send you an invoice for compensation for the extra distance.

Changes to Permitted Driving Miles Limits

The driving distance limit for your booking may change if you extend or shorten your booking. The permitted driving miles we show when you change the duration are the total permitted driving miles for the booking and reflect the daily driving limit that applied when you made the booking.
