Use Sync messaging to ask questions about the vehicle and the host’s policies, get pickup/drop-off instructions, send photos, or discuss booking issues.
Asking questions before a booking:
Before contacting a host, you must have made a booking with them. If your decision to proceed with the booking depends on the answer to a question you have, make sure to check the vehicle listing for the information.
If the information you need is not available in the vehicle listing, you can ask the host a question after completing the booking. If the answer is not what you were looking for, you can cancel the booking and receive a refund.
Sending messages to your host
Send a message to your host by selecting the booking you have a question about in the “Bookings” tab. Choose “Contact Host” and, if prompted, “Sync Messages.” Reply to messages from providers or view your message history by opening the “Inbox” tab.
Sending photos
Tap the icon in your message thread to send photos to a host. Choose from existing booking photos, select from your phone’s gallery, or take new photos to upload. Both you and your host can see image thumbnails in the message thread. If you have trouble locating a vehicle or need help with its features, ask the host to send a photo. To remove a photo, select it in the thread, tap or click the trash can icon, and confirm to delete it.
Tip: Keep all communication between you and the host within Sync messages so our support representatives have a record to resolve any disputes.
Note: To protect your privacy, you can delete driver’s license images or selfies uploaded to booking photos or messages after verification.
