You are responsible for paying the cost of certain tickets issued while your booking is in progress and for parking violations issued up to 24 hours after the end of the booking.
Guest Responsibility for Tickets and Fines
You are responsible for fines associated with tickets in the following cases:
- Tickets resulting from illegal driving while your booking is in progress.
- Parking tickets and related fines issued up to 24 hours after the end of the booking, including any costs related to towing or impoundment due to improper parking.
- Liability for driving-related violations that can be transferred to you.
- A 3% processing fee if a host's reimbursement request requires intervention from Sync.
- An administrative fee for speeding tickets issued at toll collection points.
You are not responsible for:
- Tickets related to the vehicle itself (e.g., tinted window violations, repair-related tickets required for the host’s vehicle, or expired insurance penalties).
Ticket Notification
Notify your host as soon as possible if you receive a ticket. They may not receive a notice for several months, as each agency has a different billing cycle. Due to these variations, we allow hosts up to 180 days to receive and settle ticket costs. Once they do, Customer Support may need up to five days to process them. This means you could receive a reimbursement request for a ticket up to 185 days after the end of a booking.
Ticket Payment
Tickets received within 90 days after the end of a booking
If a host submits a ticket charge, we will notify you via email and display a notification in the Sync activity feed. You have 48 hours to pay or dispute the charge. Open the link in the email or notification, or go to your bookings, open the history tab, and access the booking to view the charge on the details page. Tap "Accept and Pay" or "Decline."
Tickets received more than 90 days after the end of a booking
We will notify you via email about ticket charges submitted by your host. Respond to the email with any questions or to dispute the charge.
