You are responsible for returning the vehicle with the same amount of fuel (gasoline, diesel) or charge as when you received it. If you don’t, your host may request reimbursement from you.
Documenting Fuel or Charge Levels
Take photos of the fuel gauge/electric charge level before and after your booking. Also, take a photo of the fuel receipt showing the date, time, number of liters, and cost clearly. Upload these photos to "Booking Photos." We will refer to them if there is a discrepancy with your host.
Note: If you purchased "Prepaid Refueling" as an Extra, your host cannot request reimbursement, and you cannot request a refund for unused fuel.
Tesla Supercharger Fees
Using a Tesla Supercharger during your booking will incur charges on your host’s Tesla account. Your host may request reimbursement from you for these fees. In addition to the vehicle charging cost, your host may also request reimbursement for the following:
- Supercharger Idle Fee: Idle fees apply only when a Supercharger station is at 50% capacity or more and double when the station is at 100% capacity. Move the vehicle within five minutes of charging completion to avoid the fee. You are responsible for up to €500 in Supercharger fees incurred during a booking.
- Supercharger Congestion Fee: Tesla charges this fee instead of an idle fee in certain locations when the Supercharger station is busy and the vehicle’s battery is already at the congestion fee level. The vehicle’s touchscreen displays the battery charge level at which congestion fees apply. You have a five-minute grace period before the fee is applied. You are responsible for up to €500 in Supercharger fees incurred during a booking.
Fuel or Low Battery Charge Payment
Hosts have up to 72 hours after the end of a booking to submit an invoice for fuel costs. You have 48 hours to pay the invoice. Click the link in the email or notification, or go to "Booking Details" for the booking to view the invoice. Select "Accept and Pay" or "Reject." If Customer Support needs to intervene in a reimbursement issue, we will charge a 3% processing fee.
