This policy outlines the guidelines regarding payments made outside the Sync platform, either from guests to hosts or vice versa.
Policy
Sync strictly prohibits hosts and guests from requesting, accepting, or making payments outside the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, payments for:
- Additional usage and late fees
- Vehicle delivery
- Deposits or guarantees
- Extras
- Refunds for incidental costs
- Booking fees
- Booking extensions
- Vehicle protection
Violations
Payments made outside of Sync limit our ability to monitor transactions and assist in disputes, no-shows, or booking-related issues. Without a verified Sync transaction record, we cannot protect users from fraud, such as double charging for incidental costs.
If you request or make payments outside of Sync, your account may be restricted, and in some cases, you may be removed from the platform.
Exceptions
The following cash payments or reimbursements are permitted:
Hosts can reimburse guests for:
- Prepaid parking at a vehicle pickup location.
Guests can reimburse hosts for:
- Damage claims resolved outside of Sync
- Damage to Extras
