If you don't cancel your booking and don't show up on time, your host can report you as a "no-show". Before doing so, they will send you a message through Sync to let you know. If you receive such a message, respond immediately.
When you are considered a "no-show"
You are considered a no-show if:
- You don't show up at the pickup point and haven't cancelled the booking
- You arrive without a valid driving licence
- You send someone else to pick up the vehicle instead of you
What you will be charged
In case of a no-show, we will retain part of your booking cost. The exact amount depends on the booking duration:
1 or 2-day booking: You will be charged 75% of one day's rental, calculated at the average daily rate. The remainder will be refunded.
Example: 2-day booking, cost €100 (€50/day). Charge: 75% × €50 = €37.50. Refund: €62.50.
3 or more days: You will be charged 2 days' rental, calculated at the average daily rate. The remainder will be refunded.
What is always refunded
Regardless of booking duration, the following are always refunded in full:
- Any Extras you purchased
- Young driver fee, if applicable
- Protection plan
- 50% of the delivery fee
If you're delayed due to a flight, ferry or train
If you experience a delay or cancellation during your travel:
- Contact your host immediately through Sync messaging
- Let them know your new estimated arrival time
- If the delay is only a few hours on the same day, simply coordinating with your host is enough
- If you'll arrive on a different day, change your booking dates: open your booking in the Sync app → "Change dates" → follow the steps
- If your host cannot accept the change and cancels, contact us through Chat — we're happy to help!
